In the Donetsk region, the marines of the russian army suffered severe losses near the town of Vuhledar.

According to the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense as of February 26, the russian military command wants to backfill the losses with mobilized forces.

British intelligence published a satellite image from the Vuhledar sector. It depicts a destroyed russian vehicle that was probably part of the 155th Naval Infantry.

This brigade is considered an elite unit in the russian army. However, unlike the airborne infantry, the 155th brigade was not deployed as a single large group in Ukraine.

British intelligence notes that the marines of the russian federation performed some of the most challenging tactical tasks and suffered extremely high casualties. At the same time, the russian command decided to backfill the losses with inexperienced mobilized personnel.

"This lack of experience almost certainly exacerbating russian officers' tendency to micromanage, which, in turn, reduces operational agility. There is a realistic possibility that degraded Naval Infantry units (of the 155th brigade) will again be committed to new assaults near Vuhledar," – the intelligence emphasizes.

It should be noted that earlier, British intelligence reported that the invaders were preparing for new attacks in the Vuhledar sector. However, the intelligence believed that more than the resources of the russians would be needed for a breakthrough.
