Ukraine needs F-16, Gripen or Tornado to counter russia's strike – defense minister
Ukraine's Armed Forces need F16, Gripen or Tornado jet fighters.
This will help the Ukrainian army to start its counteroffensive, Oleksii Reznikov, Ukraine's defense minister, reports.
"To break the russian dominance in the skies over the occupied territories and launch a counteroffensive, we need F-16s, or Gripen, or Italian Tornados… it doesn't matter which model, as long as they are modern and have the latest radars," he said.
The minister said the Ukrainian partners at the last Rammstein meeting understood that the time factor is of crucial importance.
Ukrainian officials have urged the US. Congress members to press President Joe Biden's administration to send F-16 jetfighters to Kyiv, saying the aircraft would boost Ukraine's ability to hit russian missile units with US-made rockets.
American officials say that after a year of warning the Ukrainians not to fire Western weaponry into russia, the Ukrainian military has earned their trust.
