Erdogan speaks with putin on peace efforts in Ukraine
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with the russian dictator vladimir putin.
The state leaders discussed the earthquakes in Turkey and russia's war against Ukraine, Anadolu reports.
Erdogan said a just world must be established without further human casualties and destruction in war.
He added that Ankara sincerely wants the agreements reached in Istanbul to be revived. Erdogan emphasized that Turkey is ready to do this with any contribution.
Today, during a conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, Erdogan stated Ankara's readiness to contribute to peace, but "on the basis of a ceasefire."
Erdogan has recently offered Zelensky to become a mediator in negotiations with the russian federation. Erdogan's adviser declared Turkey's intention to seek a "local ceasefire" in Ukraine.
