Germany to send more Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine than planned
Germany will send 18 Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine instead of 14 initially planned.
Together with Portugal and Sweden, Germany can assemble one tank battalion for Ukraine, says the state's defense minister on Twitter.

"The Minister of Defense (Boris) Pistorius decided to transfer four additional Leopard 2 A6 main battle tanks from the Bundeswehr to Ukraine. Thanks to this, Germany increases the number of delivered tanks from 14 to 18 and, together with Portugal and Sweden, provides a total Ukrainian battalion," the statement says.
At the end of January, Bundeswehr decided to provide 14 Leopard 2 main battle tanks to Ukraine's armed forces.
German tanks, along with Marder IFV, should be delivered to Ukraine in the last week of March. Ukrainian troops are currently undergoing training on these vehicles.
