There will be a small wave of missile attacks on Ukraine on the first anniversary of the full-scale invasion. russia is not planning anything unusual, says Kyrylo Budanov, Defense Intelligence chief at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

"Nothing unusual will happen—usual efforts," Budanov told the Ukrainian Pravda in an interview. "A small missile attack is planned on [February] 23-24; they have two dates. Believe me. We have experienced this more than 20 times."

On February 24, 2022, the russian federation launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. During the year, the defense forces of Ukraine inflicted significant losses on the aggressor, destroying almost 146,000 russian invaders. Ukrainian authorities argued the date had a symbolic significance to russian leadership, so they might launch multiple missile attacks on this day and days leading up to the anniversary.

Budanov added that the appetites of russian president vladimir putin, who wanted to take over Ukraine, have significantly decreased. At the moment, the dictator seeks to reach at least the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

The intelligence chief also stated that he was ready to help russian defense minister shoigu and Wagner mercenary group head prigozhin "destroy each other" when he was asked about the public conflict between the two military chiefs.

"In any case, it's a plus for us. The more arguments and serious conflicts they have in their system, the faster our victory come," Budanov said.

Also, Intelligence Chief Budanov emphasized that there would be decisive battles from the middle to the end of spring. He believes this is when the turning point in the war will come.

He added that the significant offensive of the russian army was already underway but was of shallow quality.
