Zelensky discusses grain shipment corridor with Pakistan’s president

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, held a telephone conversation during which two leaders discussed the Black Sea Grain Initiative.

"We noted the importance of the principles of territorial integrity and sovereignty of states, and respect for the UN Charter," Zelensky wrote on Twitter.

In addition, politicians paid particular attention to the "grain shipment corridor" in the Black Sea. Zelensky assured that Ukraine is ready to be a future guarantor of world food security.

The Initiative on the Safe Transportation of Grain and Foodstuffs from Ukrainian ports also called the Black Sea Grain Initiative, is an agreement between russia and Ukraine made with Turkey and the United Nations (UN) during the 2022 russian invasion of Ukraine.

The initiative was set up to reintroduce vital food and fertilizer exports from Ukraine to the rest of the world. The first ships transporting grain via this Initiative began leaving from 1st August 2022.

Approximately one-third of the shipments have gone to low and lower-middle-income countries; that is why, according to the UN, the Initiative benefits people in need, as it helps to stabilize markets and limit food price inflation.

It should be noted that Ukraine offered Pakistan to join the implementation of the "peace formula."
