Zelensky meets with Israeli parliamentary delegation

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, met with the co-chairs of the Israel-Ukraine Parliamentary Friendship Group, members of the Parliament (Knesset) of the State of Israel  Yuli Yoel Edelstein and Zeev Elkin.

The press service of the head of state reported that the President of Ukraine informed the interlocutors about the situation at the front and emphasized that "the aggressor has actually started the offensive, intensifying attacks in certain directions."

The head of state also emphasized the continuation of russian missile attacks on the civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, in particular, with the use of Iranian drones.

Zelensky emphasized that the common security challenges facing our countries and the russian-Iranian political rapprochement require a paradigm shift in the interaction between Ukraine and Israel to bring it to a new level.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the issue of support by Israeli partners for the Ukrainian peace formula and the implementation of Ukraine's recent international initiatives.

"We want the world order to be restored and stability to be returned to our region. This is exactly what my ten-point peace formula, which I presented to the G19 leaders on November 15, is about," Zelensky said.

The expansion of humanitarian and other assistance programs to Ukraine by Israel was also discussed.

Moreover, the President raised the issue of the problematic situation concerning crossing the Israeli border by citizens of Ukraine.

The Office of the President informed that according to the meeting results, the members of the Knesset of the State of Israel, Yuli Yoel Edelstein and Zeev Elkin, approved a joint statement in support of Ukraine.

The Israeli parliamentary delegation, headed by the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee chairman, Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, arrived in Kyiv on February 20. In Kyiv, the delegation met with  Michael Brodsky, Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine, and visited Bucha afterward.
