2 russian missiles flew over atomic plant in South Ukraine during today’s attack

On the morning of 18 February, during another massive russian attack, two enemy missiles were recorded flying over the South Ukrainian NPP.

The company clarified that aerial objects flew dangerously close to the nuclear facility while following the Southern Bug river in the direction of the Mykolaiv region.

"The threat of targeting the reactor with possible consequences – a nuclear catastrophe – was high again..

This is another act of nuclear terrorism by the russian federation, which threatens the security of the entire world..

Once again, we appeal to the IAEA with the demand to take all possible measures to stop the nuclear terrorism of the russian federation, to withdraw russian troops from the territory of the Zaporizhzhia station and to establish of a demilitarized zone around it, as well as a no-fly zone – over all nuclear facilities of Ukraine", stressed Energoatom.

To remind, russian troops directed a missile at the South Ukrainian NPP in September 2022. According to the preliminary data, the "Iskander" ballistic missile hit 300 meters from the nuclear reactors.

The shock wave caused damage of NPP's facilities; over 100 windows were shattered. Three high-voltage power lines were also disconnected. Currently all three power units of the station are operating in regular mode. No casualties among the staff were reported.

Earlier russian forces have installed multiple rocket launchers at Ukraine's shut-down Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Ukrainian officials claimed. Europe fears the atomic power station could be used as a base to fire on Ukrainian territory, heightening radiation dangers.
