Scholz and Biden meet in Washington to discuss support for Ukraine

On March 3, US President Joe Biden will meet with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the White House.

White House press secretary Karin Jean-Pierre reported this on Thursday, Rubryka writes.

This is Scholz's first visit to the White House since russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"The chancellor's visit is an opportunity to reaffirm the deep bonds of friendship between the United States and our NATO ally Germany," the spokeswoman said.

According to her, at the meeting immediately after the anniversary of the russian invasion, Biden and Scholz will discuss efforts to support Ukraine, sanctions against russia and export controls, and strengthen transatlantic security.

"They will also consider our future cooperation on a range of issues and global security, including working together on common challenges from China and our cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region," the spokeswoman added.

Scholz is scheduled to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris at the Munich Security Conference this week.

The visit is planned to mark the anniversary of russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine.
