In a telephone conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed cooperation on international platforms.

Zelensky wrote about this on his Telegram channel.

"I had a telephone conversation with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev… We discussed our interaction on international platforms," he wrote.

Zelensky expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan's consistent support of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and provided humanitarian aid.

For reference:

Azerbaijan supported Ukraine's territorial integrity and rejected recognizing russia's annexation of Crimea or the "independence" of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic, russia's two proxy entities in the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine.

In December, Azerbaijan sent 52 tons of humanitarian aid to support its energy sector, which was seriously damaged by russian shellings. The cargo consisted of 45 powerful transformers and 50 generators of various capacities worth $837,000.
