Ukraine to receive Leopard tanks in March – Polish defense minister
Leopard tanks, which the allies promised to Kyiv, will be transferred to Ukraine in March.
Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak stated this after a meeting in the Ramstein format held in Brussels on Tuesday, TVN 24 reports.
The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense said that even more countries had announced their participation in the coalition regarding the transfer of Leopard tanks to Ukraine.
"Germany is creating a coalition of countries that have Leopard 2A6 tanks. We, Poland, have Leopard 2A4. Norway has joined Canada and Spain, states which have already made the specific statements [to transfer the tanks]," Błaszczak said.
"We are working to ensure that Finland also hands over such tanks. Today, the Finnish minister said that this decision is very close," he added.
According to the minister, "we can say that these tanks will go to Ukraine in March."
He added that Ukrainian servicepersons are undergoing training in Poland.
