Ukrainian defense minister and NATO head meet to discuss cooperation

The Defense Minister of Ukraine, Oleksii Reznikov, discussed with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg the systemic interaction of Ukraine with the Alliance.

The head of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced this on Facebook.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian minister, in particular, thanked Stoltenberg for his consistent position in supporting Ukraine. As Reznikov noted, russia is now officially recognized as the most significant and direct threat to NATO countries.

"Ukrainian soldiers are protecting the whole of Europe today on the battlefield. The whole world admires them! Last year, Ukraine joined NATO de facto. I am doing everything to make this happen de jure in time," added the head of the Ministry of Defense.

On February 14, a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (the Ramstein-9 summit) was held in Brussels. The main issues on the agenda read as follow:

• protection of the Ukrainian sky, including utilization of an aviation platform;
• strengthening the "tank coalition";
• securing sufficient ammunition stocks;
• training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
• stability of logistics, maintenance, and repair (i.e., implementation of so-called "Military Schengen").

According to the results of the meeting, US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin noted that the partners working in the Ramstein format were able to accumulate a lot of aid for Ukraine.
