It is noted that the statement confirming the temporary closure of the airspace was published by the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova (AAC). The reason for the decision was called "ensuring the security and protection of civil aviation."
"After the interdepartmental airspace management commission meeting, a Notice To Air Missions (NOTAM) on the temporary closure of the airspace of the Republic of Moldova at 11:24 a.m. on February 14 to ensure the safety and security of civil aviation was issued. At 2:47 p.m., the airspace was reopened," the message emphasized.
The department promised to provide more detailed information soon.
It should be noted that earlier on Tuesday, February 14, the Moldovan mass media reported on the closure of the country's airspace for security reasons.
The official reasons for this decision have not been reported yet.
UPD: the reason for the temporary closure of Moldova's airspace was an unknown aircraft similar to a weather probe, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Moldova.
