War has affected over 1300 children in Ukraine in the past year

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia, over 1300 children have been affected by the aggression, including 345 currently missing children and 461 killed minors.

"Rubryka" informs this, referring to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine

The prosecutor's office notes that as of the morning of February 14, 2023,  the warfare actions of the russian federation affected at least 1,384 children.

According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 461 children were killed.

The number of victims in the war has increased, including 923 minors who received injuries of varying degrees of severity.

Juvenile prosecutors emphasize that these figures are still being determined, as work is ongoing in the areas of active hostilities, as well as in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Most children were affected in:

  • Donetsk region – 444 children;
  • Kharkiv region – 272 children;
  • Kyiv region – 123 children;
  • Mykolaiv region – 83 children;
  • Chernihiv region – 68 children;
  • Luhansk region– 66 children;
  • Kherson region– 87 children;
  • Zaporizhzhia region – 84 children;
  • Dnipropetrovsk region – 64 children.

In addition, 3,126 educational institutions were damaged due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the russian federation. Three hundred thirty-eight of these institutions were destroyed entirely.

Moreover, juvenile prosecutors report that they have already found 9,719 missing children. Still, the prosecutor's office considers 345 minors to be missing.

Also, the department emphasized that 16,207 children were deported to Russia and the so-called republics, of which only 307 minors were returned home.
