Missile attacks damage energy facilities in six Ukrainian regions
As a result of another massive missile and drone attack on Ukraine's energy facilities on Friday, generation facilities were damaged in six regions, with emergency power outages in effect in most regions, says Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko.
"Unfortunately, thermal and hydro-generation facilities and high-voltage infrastructure in six regions have been struck," he reported on Facebook. "Emergency shutdowns have been introduced in many regions. The most difficult situation is in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions," he said.
According to the minister, thanks to the successful work of the Air Defense Forces and early technical measures, Ukraine could preserve the integrity of the energy system of Ukraine.
"Energy engineers are working non-stop to restore energy supply," Halushchenko added.
As reported, on the morning of February 10, an air raid alert was announced throughout Ukraine. At 8:27 a.m., sirens began to sound in Kyiv, and in a few minutes, they spread to the country's entire territory. The siren signal means the threat of missile strikes and airstrikes. Air defense was activated in many regions.
Another massive attack was aimed at destroying Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The russian forces struck several objects of high-voltage infrastructure in the eastern, western, and southern regions, using 14 rockets, the Ukrenergo electricity company reported.
In addition, at night, the russians attacked energy infrastructure with drones and missiles, targeting power plants and transmission system facilities. It is russia's 14th massive attack on the energy system of Ukraine.
