Zelensky to speak at European Parliament

On the morning of February 9, President Volodymyr Zelensky flew to Brussels. He is expected to make a speech in the European Parliament.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced this, publishing a photo of the meeting between the presidents of Ukraine and France on her Twitter.

"Welcome to Brussels, dear Volodymyr Zelensky. The heart of the European family, in which Ukraine belongs. We will support Ukraine every step of the way towards our Union," said the President of the European Commission.

Zelensky and Macron arrived together in Brussels from Paris, where they had a joint dinner with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz the day before.

Zelensky is expected to participate in the summit of EU leaders and speak in the European Parliament. The latter was confirmed by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.

"A historic day for Europe. Proud to announce that the President of Ukraine, Zelensky, will be at the European Parliament this morning. To address the people of Europe from the House of European democracy," she wrote on Twitter.

The day before, Volodymyr Zelensky visited London, where he made a speech at Westminster Hall, met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and King Charles III, and saw the Ukrainian military in training.

As reported, during a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday evening, Zelensky confirmed Ukraine's request for heavy weapons and fighter jets.
