russian occupation forces don't stop shelling the regions of Ukraine, targeting civilian infrastructure far from any military facilities. Thus, on the night of February 9, the invaders opened fire on the eastern Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Around midnight, the russians bombarded the Hrodivka community, Donetsk region, which was relatively far from the front line, with artillery, injuring one person and damaging the church in one of the community's villages, Novoekonomichne. 

The outskirts of Kramatorsk also came under shelling, damaging the territory of one of the city companies. In the Volnovakha direction, the russian shelling damaged two houses in Bohoiavlenka of the Uhledar community. A building in Bahatyr was damaged as a result of a rocket attack.

In the Donetsk direction, five shellings were recorded in the Kurakhove community. Novoselydivka Village was the most affected: a kindergarten, an outpatient clinic, a family recreation center, a residential building, and a company were damaged. The outskirts of Kurakhovo and Trudove also came under fire without casualties.

In the area of Horlivka, the russians launched a rocket attack on Kostiantynivka and fired artillery twice at Ivanopilia, damaging a house and a warehouse in the village. A two-story residential building in Siversk was damaged in the Lysychansk direction. In Niu York, a 9-story building was damaged.

The Donetsk regional military administration reports that on February 8, russians killed two residents of the Donetsk region in Bakhmut. Another seven residents of the region were injured. These data are not final: it is currently impossible to establish the exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha, occupied by the russian forces.

At night, Nikopol was at the epicenter of enemy fire in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The russian occupiers struck the city with heavy artillery, targeting the residential quarter and killing a 37-year-old man died. At least 16 residential buildings and one private enterprise were damaged. Seven outbuildings were damaged, and another one was destroyed. Two cars, power grids, and a gas line were also affected.

Other regions the russian forces bombarded on February 8:

  • Kharkiv region

russian troops massively shelled the border settlements of the Chuhuiv, Kupiansk, and Kharkiv districts of the Kharkiv region that border russia on the northeast. At least 23 settlements were under enemy fire. In the area of Kotliarivka and Tabaivka, the russian Federation used combat aviation to make strikes, leading to the hospitalization of five civilians, including a child. In the village of Dvorichna, Kupiansk district, two people were killed by the russian shelling.

  • Zaporizhzhia region

According to the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region, the territory in Ukraine's southeast, the russian occupiers fired at civilian infrastructure in the area of the settlements of Shcherbaki, Malynivka, Novodanilivka, Novodarivka, Kamianske, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Varvarivka, Huliaipole, Orikhiv, Olhivske, Charivne, Chervone, Temyrivka, Bilohryhorivka, Novoandriivka, Novomykolaivka, Stepove, Lukianivske.

Twelve reports were received about houses/apartments and infrastructure facilities being destroyed. 

  • Mykolaiv region

Yesterday, February 8, at 12:46 p.m., the settlement of the Ochakiv community in the southern Mykolaiv region came under enemy artillery shelling, damaging residential buildings. There were no casualties reported.

  • Sumy region

On February 8, russian troops shelled Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Esman, Novoslobidka, Yunakivka, and Seredyni-Budy regional communities in the northern region of Sumy. Eighty-seven artillery rounds and eight machine gun rounds were recorded, leading to no destruction or casualties.

  • Chernihiv region

russian occupying troops shelled the northern border settlement in the Semenivka community of the Chernihiv region from the air. According to the North Operational Command, two civilians were killed. It was also reported that two people were rescued from the rubble.

  • Kherson region

On February 8, the russian occupying forces shelled the center of Kherson and suburban settlements. Two civilians are reported dead. Four are wounded. Residential buildings, power lines, gas pipelines, heating networks, etc., were also damaged.

  • Luhansk region

On the Kupiansk and Lyman directions, Novoselyvske, Stelmakhivka, Chervonpopivka, Kreminna, Kuzmyne, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka came under the russian fire. russian troops carried out an airstrike near Serebrianske Forestry.
