Sweden just approved giving more military aid to Ukraine than ever before
The Swedish Parliament has approved the government's proposed changes to the state budget, which provide a record military aid supply to Ukraine of 4.3 billion Swedish kroner (about $406mln).
This is stated in a message on the website of the Swedish Parliament (Riksdag).
"Military equipment the Armed Forces of Sweden can do without for a certain time will be transferred to Ukraine. The aid package includes anti-tank weapons, demining equipment, Robot 57 anti-tank missiles, and CV90 infantry fighting vehicles, with a total cost of 4.3 billion kroner," the parliament said.
It is noted that the adopted changes to the budget will enter into force on February 13, 2023.
For reference:
This is already the tenth package of Swedish military aid to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
In November, Sweden provided its ninth package of support for more than $287mln, which was also considered a record at that time.
