Bringing Abrams tanks to Ukraine will take months, Leopards will be there soon — White House
The White House representative on national security matters, John Kirby, said that the delivery of American Abrams tanks to Ukraine might take several months. However, the German-made Leopard tanks will be delivered in a short time.
This is reported by CNN, Rubryka writes.
According to him, the administration of US President Joe Biden is "not going to waste time" on training and strengthening supply chains so that Ukrainian forces are best prepared to use the tanks when they eventually arrive in Ukraine.
At the same time, Kirby refused to answer whether Ukraine should wait for tanks until the end of 2023.
"I don't want to be too specific because we are still working out the plans, but it will take many months," Kirby said, adding that a batch of Leopard tanks will arrive in Ukraine shortly.
