Electricity supply situation critical in three Ukraine regions in missile attack aftermath

Emergency power outages have been introduced across Ukraine: energy infrastructure facilities have been struck amid russia's recent missile attack. The most challenging situation is currently in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions.

"Today, the enemy fired again at energy facilities, trying to cause a system failure in Ukraine's energy system.

Many missiles were shot down thanks to the excellent work of air defense. Unfortunately, there are hits to energy infrastructure facilities. Emergency shutdowns have been introduced. The most challenging situation is currently in the Kyiv, Odesa, and Vinnytsia regions," the head of the ministry said.

Halushchenko said that energy workers are working to restore the energy supply as soon as possible.

On the morning of January 26, the russian army launched another massive missile attack on Ukraine. Explosions were reported in Kyiv, Vinnytsia region, and Odesa region.

Out of 55 missiles launched by russia, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 47, Commander-in-Chief Valerii Zaluzhnyi reported.

In Kyiv City and Kyiv, Odesa, and Dnipropetrovsk regions, the energy industry turned off the power supply due to the threat of enemy missile strikes.

The DTEK energy maintenance company emphasized that it was a forced preventive step and would avoid significant damage to the energy infrastructure if enemy missiles reached the target.

As a result of a missile attack on the night of January 26, russian troops targeted an energy infrastructure facility in the Zaporizhzhia region.

In addition, on the morning of January 26, due to a russian missile strike, two critical energy infrastructure facilities were hit in the Odesa region.

In addition, a strike to an energy facility was also recorded in the Kyiv region.
