The European Union wants to impose a price cap on the diesel fuel of the russian federation at the level of 100 dollars per barrel.

Rubryka reports this with reference to Bloomberg.

As the media outlet reports, according to sources familiar with this matter, the European Union plans to limit the price of high-class export fuel from russia, such as diesel fuel, to the level of $100 per barrel.

In addition, the EU is studying the possibility of setting a price limit for russian oil products traded at a discount, such as fuel oil, at $45.

Negotiations are complicated by the EU's efforts to balance two competing goals: limiting russian revenues and preventing price spikes or shortages of essential products on the world market.

It is noted that EU diplomats will start discussing price levels on Friday, January 27.
