It is noted that the EU strongly condemns the brutal and disproportionate use of force by the Iranian authorities against peaceful protesters.
Iran was reportedly rocked by protests after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini on September 16, after being detained by the morality police. Since then, the protests have turned into one of the most severe challenges to the theocratic regime in Iran.
At the end of December, Iran began to execute death sentences for detained protesters.
