Key moment has come in war, Ukraine needs more weapons — NATO Secretary General
Ukraine needs a significant increase in the number of weapons at the key moment of russia'a full-scale aggression.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of the Davos Economic Forum.
"This is a key moment in the war and the need for a significant increase in support for Ukraine. If we want to achieve a peaceful solution through negotiations tomorrow, we must provide more weapons today," Stoltenberg said.
According to him, Ukraine needs more air defense systems, armored vehicles, ammunition, spare parts, and maintenance capabilities to ensure that existing weapons continue to function.
The NATO Secretary General added that the situation on the frontline had stabilized in recent weeks, but the prolonged fierce fighting in the eastern city of Bakhmut demonstrated the importance of providing more weapons to support Ukraine.
"President putin does not show any signs of readiness for peace, so he must realize that he cannot win on the battlefield," Stoltenberg stressed.
