Ukraine’s Mykolaiv launches free restorative program for city volunteers

Mykolaiv launched a program on restorative practices for city volunteers within the grant project, which is being implemented with the assistance of the United Nations Development Program and the financing of the Government of Denmark.

Suppose you're a public activist or a representative of a charitable foundation or humanitarian headquarters in Mykolaiv. In that case, you can attend first aid training, joint therapy sessions on pottery, art therapy practices, individual sessions, and group sessions with a psychologist. All sessions and classes are free.

The program started at the end of last year and will continue until mid-April 2023. The organizers publish the schedule of classes and sessions every month. To participate in the January Program, you must fill out the questionnaire at the link: https://bit.ly/KeepcalmMyko_1. Based on the selection results, a group of participants will be formed for January 11–25, 2023. Organizers will inform participants about the places of events.

"Volunteers in Mykolaiv have been working non-stop since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Helping others under extreme tension and stress brings us closer to victory. However, due to their often merciless attitude toward themselves, volunteers run the risk of emotional burnout. Therefore, the program's goal is to provide comprehensive, psychological, practical, and methodological support to public activists and volunteers who assist those who need it. Join in! Let's fight emotional burnout together!" says Anna Hanzhul, project manager.

Participants will have the opportunity to receive practical communication, physiotherapeutic tools of psychosocial support and self-support, and to restore the inner resource.

You can participate in the events an unlimited number of times (that is, attend at least all five pottery classes, all three art therapy practices, and join group psychological support).
