Maxar releases satellite images of frontline Bakhmut and Soledar, Donetsk region
The American aerospace company Maxar published satellite images of the cities of Soledar and Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, which russian troops are trying to capture.

Satellite images show that residential buildings and schools were completely destroyed in Soledar, Donetsk. Bakhmut has thousands of explosion craters along the roads and in the fields.

Earlier, it was reported that in the battles for Soledar in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian defenders, using artillery and the Tochka-U tactical missile system to eliminate the enemy, destroyed more than a hundred russian soldiers.
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that they discovered the enemy's concentration in several areas.
The command noted that the destruction of more than 100 occupiers, two machine gun units, and two mortars was confirmed as a result of these several strikes.

On the evening of January 9, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that there were not even "whole walls left" in Soledar, which the Russian invaders were trying to capture.
At the same time, on the evening of January 11, Ukraine's General Staff reported that fighting continued in Soledar, and the occupiers were trying to take control of the supply routes of the Ukrainian military in the Bakhmut direction.
In an evening video message, Zelensky emphasized that fighting continues in the city.
CNN, which spoke to a soldier of the 46th Airmobile Brigade, wrote that the situation in Soledar is critical, and the number of dead is so high that "no one is counting."
Analysts of the Institute for the Study of War reported that russian troops did not capture all of Soledar, but even if it had been captured, Bakhmut would not have been surrounded.
Deputy Minister of Defense Hanna Maliar announced on January 11 that in the city of Soledar, heavy fighting between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the russian invaders was ongoing in the Donetsk region.
