Monitoring missions of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will arrive in Ukraine at the nuclear power plants to monitor the stations' safety in wartime conditions.

This was reported by acting Oleh Korikov, head of the State Inspection of Atomic Regulation, Ukrinform reports.

"Ukraine invited the IAEA to arrange monitoring missions at all other nuclear power plants, including Chornobyl. The IAEA agreed with this proposal, and shortly, these missions will be deployed at all nuclear power plants," he noted.

According to Korikov, the main purpose of these missions is to monitor the state of security in the conditions of military influences that Ukraine and Ukrainian nuclear facilities are currently experiencing. This is how the IAEA will be able to see with its own eyes how missile strikes affect the state of nuclear plants.

In December, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi, held negotiations in moscow regarding the creation of a safety zone around the occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP.

On March 4, the Zaporizhia NPP was seized by the russian military. Since then, the russians have been placing military equipment and ammunition on the site of the station and shelling the surrounding area.

Currently, all six power units of the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP are stopped, and the invaders block their activation. ZNPP continues to constantly consume about 100 MW for its own needs from the energy system of Ukraine.
