US company L3Harris to produce 14 VAMPIRE missile systems for Ukraine
The American company L3Harris Technologies will manufacture 14 VAMPIRE modular missile systems for Ukraine. The first four missile systems are to be delivered by mid-2023.
This is discussed in the press release of L3Harris Technologies.
Under a contract with the US Department of Defense, the company will install VAMPIRE on vehicles the US government provides.
The company said all 14 systems should be delivered by the end of 2023.
It is noted that the amount of the contract is 40 million dollars.
"The portable VAMPIRE kit will allow Ukraine ground forces to target and shoot down enemy drones and defend against adversary ground threats.
The systems ordered by DoD are tailored to provide critical defense assets to help Ukraine protect against attacks on civilian infrastructure," L3Harris Technologies representatives said.
It was also emphasized that the VAMPIRE missile complexes would be equipped with the following:
- Advanced guidance sensor WESCAM MX-10 RSTA,
- Advanced Precision Kill Weapons System missiles will allow the operator to quickly and accurately hit targets.
Earlier, Rubryka reported that the Pentagon awarded a contract to L3Harris Technologies for supplying 14 VAMPIRE missile systems to Ukraine, which will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces recognize and destroy enemy drones.
