New military division armed with K-2 and Abrams tanks to be created in Poland
A new military unit is being created in Poland. It will be armed with South Korean K-2 and American Abrams tanks.
Rubryka writes about this with reference to Poland's Ministry of Defense on Twitter.
According to Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak, the 1st infantry division of the legions will be formed in the east of the country in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The new military unit will be located between the 16th and 18th mechanized divisions.
"The division will be equipped with modern weapons. K2 and Abrams tanks will also be stationed here. Poland will receive new deliveries of these tanks this year," Blaszczak said.
The head of the Polish Ministry of Defense explained that the creation of a new division would allow more effective deterrence of a potential aggressor and prepare defenses in the event of an attack.
"Undoubtedly, we are dealing with an attempt to rebuild the russian empire, that is, the empire of evil. Regardless of whether it was white or red, whether it is now putin's, it has always carried evil, as our neighbors from Ukraine are convinced every day because a regular war is going on in Ukraine, this is already a full-scale conflict," the minister said.
It is worth noting that the Podlaskie Voivodeship is located in the northeast of Poland, on the border with the russian Kaliningrad Region and Belarus.
