Turkey’s President to talk to Zelensky and putin on Wednesday

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan plans to hold phone conversations with Ukrainian and russian counterparts — Volodymyr Zelensky and vladimir putin, on Wednesday.

This was announced on the air of the NTV channel on Tuesday by the adviser to the Turkish president, Ibrahim Kalin.

He did not give any other details about what Erdogan plans to discuss. Earlier, the russian mass media reported on the planned telephone conversation between the presidents of Turkey and russia.

Erdogan last spoke with Zelensky on December 11. At that time, it was about Turkey's humanitarian aid, the "grain deal," the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, and the "peace formula."

As you know, from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, Turkey refused to introduce sanctions against it, declaring its role as a mediator between the warring parties.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said in early December that Ankara expects to see a "clearer picture" of a ceasefire in the war in Ukraine or a return to the negotiating table by the spring of 2023.
