President’s Office Head announced alternative to security guarantees for Ukraine

Ukraine will receive all necessary security guarantees from the partner countries. The only question is when and how these guarantees will be provided by each country.

Rubryka reports this with reference to the statement of the head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, in an interview with Natalia Moseichuk.

"I did not believe that in such a short period we would be able to prepare such a document — the Kyiv Security Compact, which is on the table of all world leaders. And today, no one is even talking about "possible" or "impossible." There is a fact; the only question is when and how these guarantees will be provided by each country. It will be either a set of treaties, one big treaty, or bilateral treaties, and so on," Yermak said.

According to him, it can be one big document laying down the principles, and then it will be supplemented by bilateral treaties. Or contracts that will relate to one subject.

"I am sure we will either receive these guarantees or become a NATO member. It may be both," the head of the President's Office added.

We will remind, on September 13, Ukraine presented the Kyiv Security Compact, which contains recommendations on international security guarantees for Ukraine.

According to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, recommendations on guarantees for Ukraine, which were included in the Kyiv Security Compact, should form the basis of the future system of security treaties.
