Ukrainian brand presents first reflective accessories collection

The Ukrainian brand Svitla Smuha created the first collection of reflective accessories to address the problem of pedestrian safety during power outages.

What is the problem?
Since October 10, 2022, when russia began massively attacking Ukraine's critical infrastructure with missile attacks, scheduled and unscheduled blackouts have been ongoing throughout the country. According to the data of the patrol police, this leads to more traffic accidents with fatal consequences.
As Andrii Molokoiedov, press officer of the Kyiv City Patrol Police Department, told on the air of the Kyiv TV channel, the number of people killed in road accidents in Kyiv has increased by six since the blackouts began. The number of accidents with victims has increased by approximately 55% since the start of the blackouts. The number of road accidents involving pedestrians has doubled, and accidents at pedestrian crossings have also increased, the police said.

The Ukrainian brand Svitla Smuha created the first reflective accessories collection, including handkerchiefs, scarves, stripes, bags, pocket stripes, and vests.
Nastia Yurko and Nastia Babicheva founded the brand of reflective fabric accessories. According to the designers, the idea of a brand of conscious street fashion appeared when Ukraine found itself in the dark due to the russian shelling of the country's energy sector. They created accessories to make Ukrainians feel safer on the streets.
How does it work?
All accessories are made of reflective fabric. The first collection included handkerchiefs, scarves, bags, pocket stripes, and vests. Most accessories are in three colors: gray, graphite, and blue. According to the developers, fabrics for clothes are delivered from Mykolaiv, and everything is sewn in Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, and the region.
