The Interdepartmental Working Group on the implementation of the sanctions policy recommended that proposals regarding the application of sanctions to representatives of the russian law enforcement agencies and representatives of the IT sector be submitted to Ukraine's National Security Defense Council (NSDC) for consideration.
The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine reports this.
Such a decision was made at a meeting of the Working Group under the chairmanship of the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyridenko.
"As part of the strengthening of sanctions pressure on the terrorist state and persons who support or facilitate the aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, the Interdepartmental Working Group recommended submitting proposals for the adoption of sanctions against more than 1,300 representatives of the russian security agencies to the NSDC for consideration.
In particular, the FSB, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the National Guard of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the judiciary. That is, against persons directly involved in crimes in Ukraine and against Ukraine.
It is also recommended to send to NSDC the proposals for sanctions against more than 500 legal entities and individuals in russia's IT sector. These are manufacturers of software or equipment, companies, and individuals connected to social media, various platforms that the Putin regime uses for propaganda, etc.," Svyridenko said.
It is also noted that the Interdepartmental Working Group considered at the meeting several issues aimed at strengthening cooperation with Ukraine's international partners and increasing the effect of sanctions pressure.
That includes the following:
- mirroring sanctions previously adopted by Ukraine by partner countries;
- making it impossible for russia and belarus to receive critical import goods. First of all, goods and components are used to produce weapons and military equipment.
The Ministry of Economy emphasized that today the relevant bodies of Ukraine and partner countries have a complete mutual understanding of the critical issues of the sanctions policy, and information is being exchanged.
"The data provided by Ukraine have a continuation in the decisions and actions of the allies. For example, part 9 of the EU sanctions package, as well as the sanctions adopted by the USA, mirrored the sanctions introduced by Ukraine," the statement says.
In addition, the partners promptly verify the information provided by Ukraine regarding, for example, Western components found in the weapons used by russia and take appropriate measures.
