Moldova has simplified entry rules for Ukrainians
Until February 1, 2023, citizens of Ukraine were allowed to enter Moldova on the basis of an identity card and through the Moldovan-Romanian border and Chisinau airport.
The National State of Emergency Commission made this decision on December 23, Newsmaker reports.
The National Commission supplemented the decision on the order of entry of Ukrainian citizens, adopted on February 24.
Now citizens of Ukraine will be able to enter Moldova from Romania on the basis of the following:
- identity card (ID card, internal passport),
- ordinary passport,
- as well as other identity documents (identity card of a citizen of Ukraine issued by the Embassy of Ukraine in Moldova,
- temporary identity card issued by the Migration Bureau, driver's license, residence permit, military ID, etc.).
- They can also present copies of these documents or documents in electronic format, as well as expired documents.
- Previously, this provision was valid only in the case of entering Moldova from Ukraine.
On the basis of the same documents, they will be able to leave Moldova for Ukraine.
Recently, a Ukrainian citizen and her three minor children, who were on their way from Bucharest to Odesa in transit through Moldova, were not allowed into the country because they did not have international passports but only internal identity documents. As the head of the Border Police, Rosyan Vasiloi, explained at the time, to transit through Moldova, citizens of Ukraine must issue the necessary documents at diplomatic missions of Ukraine.
