"Simon Lereng Wilmont's documentary film "A House made of Splinters," created with the support of Derzhkino, was shortlisted for the Oscar award.
The picture is presented among 15 candidates in the "Best Documentary Feature Film" category. Five nominees out of 15 will be elected in January 2023," the message states.
The movie tells about how, against the backdrop of the war in Eastern Ukraine, a small group of strong-willed social workers tirelessly work in a special orphanage near the front line. They create a safe space for children to live while the state authorities and courts decide the future fate of the child and their family.
