Ukraine's Security and Defense Council refutes fakes about deterioration of tap water quality
Reports circulating on Russian Telegram channels about the alleged decline in the quality of tap water in Ukraine and the fact that its use can lead to epidemics is not true.
The Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine said in a statement on Telegram.
"This is deliberate disinformation by the Kremlin, which, by spreading such fakes, is attempting to provoke panic among the population and sow disbelief in the authorities' ability to provide the population with quality drinking water," the center said.
In fact, the Center for Countering Disinformation emphasizes that almost 400,000 microbiological tests and 670,000 tests for chemical components of drinking water of centralized water supply conducted by the Ministry of Health during the past nine months did not reveal any deviations from sanitary standards.
In addition, Health Ministry's regional centers for disease control and prevention have not recorded any outbreaks related to the use of tap water this year.
Therefore, residents can use centralized water supply without any risk, in particular, in liberated territories, the Center for Countering Disinformation said.
