Nearly all of Odesa region remains without electricity - city council
The city of Odesa and nearly all of the Odesa region remain without electricity.
The Odesa City Council said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app.
"After the morning attacks by the enemy on energy infrastructure in the Odesa region on December 10, DTEK and Ukrenergo energy experts continue to restore the destroyed energy facilities. Odesa and almost all of the region remain without power," the post said.
According to preliminary estimates, it will take much more time to restore energy facilities in the Odesa region than in previous times after enemy shelling.
Immediately after the attacks on energy infrastructure, DTEK and Ukrenergo did everything possible to quickly supply voltage to critical infrastructure, including boiler houses, water supply company, and hospitals.
However, the situation remains difficult. In total, 206 teams from the DTEK Odeski Elektromerezhi power company are working around the clock in the Odesa region to promptly eliminate accidents and restore light to customers as soon as possible.
After the restoration work is completed, DTEK Odeski Elektromerezhi's power engineers will be able to start turning on the lights for a while.
Russian troops early on December 10 attacked the energy infrastructure of the Odesa region with drones. Two of them were shot down by Ukrainian forces.
