European Parliament will consider resolution on recognizing Holodomor as genocide
Next week in Strasbourg, during the plenary session of the European Parliament, deputies will discuss the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor.
EP reports this.
According to the schedule of the meeting of the European Parliament, on the morning of December 15, there will be a debate on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine in connection with russia's attacks on critical infrastructure facilities.
The European Parliament said in a statement: "With russian strikes targeting facilities such as schools, hospitals and power plants, Ukraine faces a potentially catastrophic humanitarian situation ahead of winter as people risk being left without shelter, water and electricity, as well as face death and destruction."
At the same time, MEPs should also discuss and vote on a resolution to recognize the Holodomor as genocide. "The Holodomor was a famine imposed by the Soviet Union that killed millions of Ukrainians in 1932-1933," the message reads.
