Ambassador Markarova: Ukraine, USA cooperate to introduce new sanctions against russia
Ukraine is directly cooperating with the United States, as well as other countries, to introduce new effective sanctions against Russia after its missile attacks on Ukrainian cities.
The relevant statement was made by Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova in an exclusive commentary to Ukrinform in Washington.
"Certainly, we are providing all the information, working together with partners to ensure that sanctions [against Russia – Ed.] are constantly expanded," Markarova said, answering a question about whether there is any interaction between Ukraine and the United States to increase sanctions pressure on Russia.
According to Markarova, the work is underway in relation to Russian banks, other legal entities and individuals in Russia, as well as companies and organizations, which assisted Russians with their recent missile attacks.
In this regard, Markarova mentioned that, in recent weeks, restrictions had been imposed on Iran, as well as the countries and companies, involved in the manufacture of striking drones handed over to Russians.
Markarova emphasized that sometimes restrictions can be implemented faster, sometimes it takes longer, as "we want these sanctions to have a real effect and ensure that no courts could cancel these restrictions".
In her words, Russia must be isolated, sanctions must be expanded, and new sanctions packages are under development now.
