Pentagon concluded billion-dollar contract to provide NASAMS for Ukraine

The Ministry of Defense of the United States of America concluded a contract to produce and purchase advanced NASAMS air defense systems for Ukraine.

This is discussed in Pentagon's official message, Rubryka writes.

"Raytheon Co., Tewksbury, Massachusetts, was awarded a $1,216,207,829 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, associated equipment, services and spares in support of the efforts in Ukraine. Bids were solicited via the internet with one received," the statement said.

At the same time, it is reported that the work will be carried out in Tewkesbury. The estimated date of completion of the works is November 28, 2025.

Funds for the contract are allocated within the Initiative's framework to promote security in Ukraine.

We will remind that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already mastered, received, and put on combat duty several NASAMS complexes. Moreover, these systems demonstrated 100 percent efficiency in the first days of combat, shooting down ten russian missiles out of ten launches.

As Rubryka wrote, it was previously reported that the American authorities plan to hand over NASAMS air defense systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces and conduct military training on these complexes as early as November 2022.
