Ukraine’s foreign minister confirmed discussions about Patriot systems transfer to Ukraine, but added that substantive conversation is ongoing

Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba confirmed that there are certain discussions about transferring American Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine.

He said this during the launch on his Facebook page, Rubryka writes.

Kuleba said: "Of course, everyone is interested in the topic of Patriot air defense systems. I will say this: if no one talked about it before, except for us, now the conversation is taking place. And it is a very serious and substantive conversation."

According to the head of the Foreign Ministry, at the NATO ministerial meeting in Bucharest, where he was present, the countries' new contributions to Ukraine's energy security, including transformers and generators, were announced.

In addition, new military aid was announced. "Weapons, winter uniforms. I can't reveal everything, but these positions include 155-mm artillery, shells, and armored vehicles. All this will soon arrive in Ukraine," he said.

Earlier, the Pentagon said that the United States is considering sending Patriot systems to Ukraine to support air defense against russian attacks.

Berlin reportedly offered Warsaw the Patriot airspace security system after a missile fell in Poland last week, killing two people.

Later, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak asked Germany to send Patriot systems to Ukraine instead.

Germany said it was discussing with its allies Poland's request to send German Patriot systems to Ukraine.
