General Staff: losses of Ukrainian army are classified information, but regardless russia must be punished

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine cannot announce the losses of the Ukrainian army in a full-scale war against the russian federation and emphasizes the irreversibility of punishment for the aggressor country for the death and injury of Ukrainian citizens.

This was reported by the head of the Public Relations Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Bohdan Senyk, in a comment to UP.

We will remind that the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in her address, emphasized the estimate of Ukraine's losses in the war against russia at 100,000 soldiers.

At UP's request to comment on such an assessment of Ukraine's losses in the war against the russian federation, which was voiced by the head of the European Commission, the General Staff reminded that military losses are classified information.

"We cannot confirm this figure, and we emphasize that the losses of the Ukrainian army are official information and subject to publication restrictions.

At the same time, if what the head of the European Commission announced will allow the aggressor country to be brought to justice, we can only support actions that will contribute to the legal punishment of those who committed the genocide of the Ukrainian people.

It is necessary to do everything so that all those responsible for the loss of civilian and military citizens of Ukraine end up on the dock," Senyk emphasized.

We will remind that army losses in the war are irreversible (killed) and sanitary (wounded and traumatized).

In the address of the head of the European Commission on the assessment of Ukraine's losses in the war, it was not indicated on the basis of whose data such assessment was made.

Moreover, after the news about this assessment spread, the reference to the fact that Ukraine lost 100,000 soldiers in the war with russia was removed from von der Leyen's public address.

Even later, the director of political communications of the European Commission, Dana Spinant, reported that the data on Ukraine's losses during the war, announced by the head of the European Commission, included wounded and dead.

Later, the EC found the estimate of the losses of the Ukrainian military to be inaccurate.

Spinant explained that the assessment voiced by von der Leyen was taken from external sources.

It was supposed to refer to the loss of killed and wounded and "was intended to show the russia's brutality."

We will remind that since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the russian army lost a total of almost 88,900 soldiers, about 500 invaders in just one day.
