Germany allocates €56 million to Ukraine for energy facilities repair
Germany provides Ukraine with EUR 56 million to repair energy infrastructure.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this in a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, Federal Government Spokesman Steffen Hebestreit reports.
On Tuesday, Chancellor Scholz called the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, with whom he exchanged views on the political, military, and humanitarian situation in Ukraine, the spokesman said.
President Zelensky informed about the consequences of russian airstrikes on civil infrastructure, water, and electricity supply. The chancellor condemned the ongoing shelling and assured Ukraine of further support.
So far, the federal government has provided some €56 million in short-term financial assistance to repair the energy infrastructure, and Germany is also providing more than 350 generators.
The chancellor confirmed Germany's unwavering support for Ukraine, particularly in air defense and long-term reconstruction.
The Federal Chancellor and the Ukrainian President agreed to continue close and constructive exchanges and maintain close contact.
