Ukraine's Security Service searches of Ukrainian Orthodox Church moscow Patriarchate: literature denying existence of Ukraine found

The Security Service and the National Police employees found many anti-Ukrainian materials during security measures on the territory of the Pochaiv Theological Seminary and the Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church moscow Patriarchate.

The SSU press service reported this.

In particular, the SSU found literature denying the existence of the Ukrainian people, their language, and Ukraine's right to statehood. On the contrary, it is emphasized that this is an allegedly artificially created state.

The special service also found brochures and books of xenophobic and hateful content with offensive fiction about other nationalities and religions. Most of the literature is the authorship of russian figures published by russian printers.

In addition, it is reported that the SSU is studying the origin of the symbols of the "Great Army of the Don," which were found in one of the utility rooms of the Ivano-Frankivsk Eparchy of the UOC (MP). In particular, we are talking about the chevrons of this illegal armed formation, which in 2014 helped the russians occupy part of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

"All this material evidence is the basis for opening two criminal proceedings under Article 161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the equality of citizens depending on their racial, national, regional affiliation, religious beliefs, disability, and other grounds). Currently, all of them have been sent for relevant independent examinations. According to the results of these investigations, further procedural actions will be taken," the SSU said.

Searches in the Pochaiv Theological Seminary took place on November 25 in the Ivano-Frankivsk region on November 27.
