Over 50,000 Ukrainian women fighting at frontline – vice-speaker
More than 50,000 Ukrainian women are fighting for the peace and security of the whole of Europe on the military front in Ukraine.
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Olena Kondratiuk, said this during her speech at the VI Ukrainian Women's Congress, Ukrinform reports.
"More than 50,000 Ukrainian women in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are fighting for peace and security throughout Europe today. I am proud that a third of our army is made up of strong and brave women," said the vice-speaker.
She noted that this is one of the highest indicators among all armies of NATO countries.
"This suggests that women can build, develop, teach, have a successful career, raise children, and, if necessary, protect their families and state. This new reality and opportunity for women must be recognized and cannot be overestimated. You have to use them," Kondratiuk stressed.
