Another 50 soldiers, including Mariupol defenders, returned from russian captivity to Ukraine

On November 24, Ukraine and russia conducted another exchange of prisoners, as a result of which it was possible to return 50 Ukrainian defenders.

This was announced by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak.

Released from captivity:

  • 20 National Guardsmen,
  • 10 soldiers of the Armed Forces,
  • 6 border guards,
  • two Territorial Defense soldiers,
  • 12 soldiers of the Naval Forces.

19 Mariupol defenders, in particular, 12 evacuated from Azovstal, are among them. Also, 15 prisoners from the Chornobyl NPP and 7 from Snake Island were released.

The previous exchange took place on November 23. One civilian and 35 military personnel were returned home.

On November 3, the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Andriy Yusov, announced on the air of a telethon that since the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion, Ukraine has already managed to free 1,138 soldiers from captivity.

And at the end of September, the head of the Ministry of Reintegration, Iryna Vereshchuk, said that russia still holds 2,500 Ukrainians captive, including many civilians.
