Ukraine completed withdrawal procedure from CIS railway agreement
Ukraine finally withdrew from the Agreement on Coordinating Bodies of Railway Transport of the Commonwealth of Independent States
Rubryka writes about this, referring to the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.
They note that the government approved the relevant resolution.
"This is one of the initiatives aimed at getting rid of even formal ties with the aggressor country and its minion," the company emphasized.
The Ukrainian carrier noted that it stopped any cooperation with the russian federation and Belarus within the framework of the aforementioned agreement as early as February 24, 2022, from the first minutes of russia's full-scale invasion.
"There has been no exchange of information between the railway administrations of Ukraine and russia since then.
In addition, at the end of February 2022, Ukrainian troops blew up railway junctions connecting Ukrainian railways with russian railways.
In addition to Ukraine, the council includes Azerbaijan, russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Moldova.
The coordination bodies created by this agreement are located on the territory of the aggressor country — in moscow, and the general director of OJSC "Russian railways" is the chairman without a term limit, the company added.
Within the framework of the specified agreement, the participating countries should coordinate:
- operational activity of railways,
- development of normative acts regulating the organization of transportation of goods and passengers.
Also, the council should carry out accounting of railway rolling stock and constant information exchange between the systems of Ukraine and russia, Ukrzaliznytsia explained.
