After the sixth massive russian missile attack on the Ukrainian energy system, almost no large thermal and hydroelectric power plants, as well as Ukrenergo nodal substations, remained intact in Ukraine

This was announced by the Ukrenergo head Volodymyr Kudrytskyi at a briefing on November 22.

"Last week, the Ukrainian energy system suffered already the sixth massive missile attack — and this was the biggest attack of all.

About 100 heavy missiles were launched, and their targets were precisely the objects of the energy system: mainly Ukrenergo substations and Ukrainian power plants. 15 Ukrenergo facilities were damaged that day…

After this attack, we have practically no intact thermal and hydropower plants left in Ukraine. That is so that you understand the scale of these attacks and what we have to work with: almost all thermal and hydro generation, if we are talking about large power plants, were hit by rockets.

Also, there are almost no undamaged nodal substations of Ukrenergo. That is, something has already hit nearly every critical substation — some substations were hit several times: three, five, and even eight times, there are such objects. The scale of destruction is colossal," the head of Ukrenergo emphasized.

Kudrytskyi emphasized that after each massive missile attack, time is needed to first:

• feed consumers with electricity,
• restore the power grid,
• and then it takes a few more days for the outage schedules to go into planned mode.

Last Tuesday, there was a stock of both materials and equipment, so immediately after the alarm went off, experts started restoring and stabilizing the power system. Already on Saturday, it was possible to return to scheduled shutdowns.

The Ukrenergo head also explained that, however, the electricity shortage remains. That is why shutdown schedules are needed to maintain balance and prevent the "collapse" of the power system.

Every day, Ukrenergo reports to regional stations, which are not part of its structure and are often private, how much it is necessary to limit the next day's consumption so that the system can work stably.

As Rubryka wrote, scheduled power outages will be applied in all Ukrainian regions on November 22.
