There are no signs russia was preparing attack on NATO territory — Stoltenberg
The missile that fell on Poland's territory and killed two villagers was probably fired by the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces while repelling russian missile attacks
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a briefing in Brussels, EP writes.
"Yesterday's explosion happened when russia launched a wave of missile attacks on Ukraine. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and we must wait for its conclusion.
But we have no indication that this was a deliberate attack.
And there are no signs that russia was preparing an attack on NATO territory," Stoltenberg stressed.
The Secretary General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization said that preliminary data indicated that the incident occurred due to the use of Ukrainian air defense systems against russian missile attacks on Tuesday.
"But I want to clearly state that this is not Ukraine's fault.
russia bears full responsibility because it continues the illegal war against Ukraine," Stoltenberg emphasized.
We will remind you that, earlier, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, said that the explosions in the east of Poland were an accident, and Warsaw does not consider the incident with the missile an attack on the country.
As Rubryka wrote, the countries of the European Union support the opinion that russia is directly responsible for the missile attack on Poland, which took the lives of two civilians from the village of Przewodów.
Scholz, in his turn, said that the case involving the hitting of a rocket that exploded on the territory of Poland and took the lives of two civilians should be thoroughly investigated, but if it were not, the root cause is russia's aggressive war against Ukraine.
The Air Force of Ukraine has assured that it is ready to provide all materials and its specialists to establish the truth in the incident with the fall of a missile in Poland, which took the lives of two peaceful residents of the village of Przewoduw.
