Borrell assures of EU’s support of Ukraine until its victory

Ukraine itself will determine the victory criteria. The head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell assured that the EU will continue to support Ukraine until its victory in the war.

Borrell stated this at a press conference after the meeting of the heads of foreign affairs of the EU states, answering the question that the USA and Turkey are allegedly pushing Ukraine to negotiate.

"We will continue to support Ukraine until its victory. And this victory should be understood on the basis of the parameters determined by Ukraine," Borrell said.

He specified that Ukrainians themselves should determine what constitutes a victory for them.

Borrell said: "The country that is being destroyed is Ukraine. The people who are freezing are Ukrainians. The several million people who left Ukraine are Ukrainians. The victims of the war are Ukrainians. So let Ukrainians decide."

As reported, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg insists that Ukraine should decide what conditions are acceptable for negotiations with russia.
