Ukraine is liberating captured territories step by step, despite heavy battles and high price — Zelensky

President Volodymyr Zelensky, during a conversation with media representatives in Kherson, said that Ukraine is liberating the captured territories step by step, and despite the brutal battles and the high price of victory, this difficult path will be passed.

The President's press service reports this.

"We are moving step by step to all the temporarily occupied territories of our country. Of course, it is difficult; it is a long and difficult path. The best heroes of our country are in this war," Zelensky said.

He emphasized that Ukraine does not believe russia's statements that are trying to mislead the world community.

"We are moving on. We are ready for peace, but peace for our entire country. This is the territory of our entire state. We respect international law and the sovereignty of every state, and now it is about the sovereignty of our state. That is why we are fighting against russia's aggression," the President said.

He stated that Ukraine would continue to liberate the territories captured by the aggressor.

"We are not interested in the territory of other countries. We are only interested in the de-occupation of our country, our territories. Therefore, I do not know what will happen next, but it will happen," Zelensky emphasized.

The President emphasized that today Ukraine is paying a high price for victories at the front because the enemy does not want to return what it captured voluntarily.

"Nobody gives anything up so easily. The price of this war is high. People were injured, and a large number of people died. That's why (russian troops – ed.) left or fled — we believe that they fled because our army surrounded the enemy and they were in danger. There were fierce battles, and the result is that today we are in the Kherson region," the head of state noted.
